Oh yeah, maybe if I mention the words AUCTION HOUSE everyone will start posting, seeing as everyone knows what an auction house is but not this trading system. Actually and auction house is pretty similar to this, you just don't bid, you just buy imediately here. If everyone really wanted it, they could add the option to the UTS to make it so you can list a starting price, a buy out price, and put your item up for auction. Heck they could even build the auction house right into the UTS to have both options available, only one major tab for each or something. (Then all of the people who listed buy outs could be listed in the UTS part too )

No people don't talk, they just post their item and wait for it to sell. Please read the entire post. I list all of the problems with trading and how the UTS solves them.

I think implementing a similar trade style from Knight Online would be a great idea! A character has the option of setting up a small stand or shop, and selling 8 items (I think) at a time for however much they want. Everyone else has the ability to browse the shops and easily find what they want. I doubt this would be much of a lag issue, because of a game like knight online can handle it, I'm sure GW could, but who knows. My only concern would be that people would still spam the Local channels saying things like "MY SHOP HAS EVERYTHING COME NOW!!!!111" An option to solve this would be disabling all chat channels, except maybe guild and team, while you are in vendor mode. Anyway, thats all I have to offer...

Besides the issue of the potential for lag, I don't like the idea of shops because then I have to travel to a ton of different shops just to see if they have what I want. With the UTS you can either browse through a particular catagory with certain options selected (like a max damage ebon axe with a sundering haft that has a 10% chance to do 10% armor penetration) or you can just search. I'm not sure how hard the search would be to program though, but im sure Anet can handle it.

I should point out that the UTS can be applied to an auction house as well. If you use the same organization and search features, as well as making the system available to all towns, districts, and nations at once. Either way would work really. I just like posting the price you want and having people buy it for that. I think an auction is too much trouble for the buyer. You could however put a "buy out" option like ebay (as I'm sure a billion people have already said about auction houses). My point here is, I'd like more people to post and tell me what is wrong with the UTS and why any other idea for an auction house or trading system is better. I challenge you all to tell me either of these two things.

not bad..could ya get them to add a Bargin Bin section, where you can pop unusual stuff, or silly stats but nice looking stuff too

(an your not the only one that has trouble keepin this lot reading a post..i try (and fail a lot) to keep mine to about one screens worth in the quick box otherwise, a lot of reareds eyes mist over and they just skip it...)

* i usualy dont trade cuz i dont hav time. I just sell it to merchants.
* my dream Trade system is a Merchant house.
- say you want to sell a short sword & an eternal shield
- you sell it to merchants at x value.
- merchants sell it to others for a higher cost
- if theres too many of 1 item, merchants wont buy it anymore.

*so say you go to Lions Arch Weapons House
- you see a list of
(5) short swords
(1) hammer of giant stomp
(3) staves of blah
(1) Fellblade...

* each town has its own merchants. not sure i like the Universal thing

* travelin to diferent towns to see which shops has what is fun!
